Delph Lane, from its junction with Myddleton Lane, Winwick in a south easterly direction to Waterworks Cottages will be affected from Monday, September 22 for about five weeks.
An alternative route will be signposted and the road will be closed to traffic as and when signs are displayed. Access will under the control of the contractor.
The alternative route will be via Southworth Lane, Smithy Brow, Lord Street, Mustard Lane, Wigshaw Lane, Common Lane, Warrington Road, Birchwood Park Avenue, Birchwood Way, Blackbrook Avenue and vice versa.
The closure is required to renew the water main from Houghton Green borehole to Winwick Water Treatment works.
