Footbridge work closes road

A BUSY Warrington road is to be subject to temporary closures this weekend and on September 6-7 while work is carried out on a footbridge.
The temporary closures – which will be in place when signs are displayed – affect the A49 Newton Road, from its junction with Delph Lane up to its junction with the M62 motorway – Junction 9.
An alternative route involving Newton Road, Cromwell Avenue, Calver Road, Mill Lane, Watery Lane, Hollins Lane, Newton Road and vice versa, will be signposted.
The reason for the temporary restrictions is to allow for the removal of the existing footbridge on the A49 Newton Road.
