YOUNG people in Warrington who spend time helping and supporting other young people are to receive recognition for their work.
The borough council is asking people to make their nominations in time for a special awards ceremony to be held on March 11.
The awards aim to recognise young people who are, or have been, involved with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Organised by the young people themselves, SHOUT – Your Voice Matters, is a young people’s participation group who meet regularly to get involved with and improve the services the Trust provides for young people.”
Cllr Jean Carter (pictured), the council’s lead member for children’s services, said: “We know that too often youngsters get a bad press but in my role I come across inspirational young people I think our town can be rightly proud of. It’s lovely to have this opportunity to recognise those young people who are spending their time helping others.”
Vicky Jolly, CAMHS participation lead said: “This year we are doing a big call-out for nominations.
“If you know of a young person in the CAMHS service, past or present, then take a look at the categories on the 5 Boroughs website and make your nomination. There are 10 categories to choose from, including – Innovator of the Year, Contribution to Service and Volunteer of the Year.”
Chief executive Simon Barber said: “We’re proud to be supporting the CAMHS Young People’s Annual Awards Ceremony. The young people involved in SHOUT – Your Voice Matters, have played a key role in the provision of our services over the past few years.”
To make your nomination visit www.5boroughspartnership.nhs.uk before 26 February.
