Motorist punched in face in robbery attempt

A MOTORIST at Warrington was punched in the face by a thug who demanded money.
Police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery in Watkin Street at about 8.45pm on Friday.
The 51-year-old motorist was sitting in his parked car in a parking bay when the unknown assailant opened his car door and demanded that he hand over all his money.
The motorist said he had no money – but the offender punched him in the face.
He then left in the direction of Brickfields Park and Hale Street. The victim was left with bruising to the face.
The offender had a local accent and was about 25-30, of stocky build and brown eyes. At the time he had his face covered with a black bandana with white spots and he was also wearing a black coat with hood up and
black gloves.
