TWO Warrington-based acupuncturists are urging people to try the ancient natural health treatment to mark the start of the Chinese New Year on Monday (February 8).
Acupuncturists Mandy Laing and Carl Reynolds are based at Cheshire Natural Health, in Stretton and they say a combination of setting resolutions for the Chinese New Year and a course of treatment in acupuncture is a great way to a healthier and happier 2016.
Carl said: “Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat a wide variety of physical and emotional problems.”
Mandy added: “Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions and I personally have witnessed in my own clinics just how effective it can be. An increasing number of Western medical research trials now acknowledge the clinical value of acupuncture.”
Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine originating in China involving very fine needles that are inserted into the body at certain key points to induce therapeutic results.
Traditional Chinese acupuncturists believe that a life-force, an energy known as Qi (pronounced ‘chi’) flows through the body in meridians, or channels.
They believe that when Qi doesn’t flow freely illness results. Acupuncture restores the flow of Qi and therefore health.
Benefits attributed to acupuncture include:
* Lose weight and keep it off.
* Improve your memory.
* Naturally alleviate pain.
* Stop smoking.
* Reduce stress.
Research into the benefits of acupuncture have shown the success this ancient treatment has in helping to cut stress, reduce anxiety and also lower blood pressure.
