WARRINGTON-born reality TV personality and former pop star Kerry Katona has been declared bankrupt by the High Court.
The mother-of-four, who now lives in Wilmslow, had reduced a £417,000 tax bill to £82,000, but Revenue and Customs insisted on pressing ahead with a bankruptcy petition first issued at the beginning of the year.
Katona, 27, who had already been given an extra two weeks to come up with the money, was given a final hour after her solicitor said funds were available once cheques had cleared.
But the money was not forthcoming and the Registrar agreed to make the order.
In recent times Katona has figured in television advertising, lent her name to a new perfume and has featured in two MTV series.
