New executive head teacher at Great Sankey High School

A new executive head teacher has been welcomed at Great Sankey High School, Warrington.

Jon Wright has joined the school having spent 15 years as Headteacher at Central Lancaster High School and nine years as a National Leader of Education supporting schools in challenging circumstances and mentoring new Headteachers.

Jon was also chair of the Lancashire Heads Group where he worked with 84 Headteachers form across the County.
As Executive Headteacher Jon will continue to develop the High School and Teaching School Alliance to ensure that the school continues on its journey of continuous improvement.

Chair of Governors at Great Sankey High School Andrew Bent said: “We are extremely pleased to be welcoming Jon to our school and community and we look forward to seeing Jon build upon the fantastic work that Great Sankey High School does.”

Jon said of his appointment: “Leading a school is both a pleasure and a privilege and Great Sankey is a very special place to work.  I can guarantee my full commitment to ensuring the school continues to offer students and parents the best opportunities and quality of service. ”

He is looking forward to working with WASCL (Warrington Association of School and College Leaders) and with primary colleagues to work together to ensure the children in Warrington have the best quality of education in the UK.
