POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack on a car at Warrington in the early hours of today.
The blaze was at the junction of Tavlin Avenue and Hawleys Lane and the car was well alight when firefighters from Warrington reached the scene.
Police closed the road while fire crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames using a hose reel jet.
The whole area was damped down as a precaution.
As the fire is believed to have been started deliberately, police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call them on 101 or, alternatively, to call the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
