Dance group busy collecting awards

WARRINGTON dance group IndepenDANCE  have been busy collecting awards.
The  group, founded 11 years ago,  entered the Hip Hop section of the British Cheerleading Association championships over two weekends at Blackpool with five teams and picked up three firsts and two seconds.
The first places were claimed by the   Five and Unders, the Under 15s and the 15 and overs and the second places were won by the Eight and unders and the 12 and unders.
The following weekend, they entered the UKCA championships at the Velodrome in Manchester.
The 25 and overs took a first, and the Under Sevens and Under 12s each took a second in the Street Cheer class while the 13-17 year-olds won a third in the Pom Dance.
Group leader Jenny Gittins said: “My youngest dancer was aged four and my oldest was in her 50s. We are delighted with our results and are now working towards the next competition where we hope to qualify for the World Hip Hop championships.”
