Warrington leader joins Sub-regional charity

AHEAD of their biggest year, Active Cheshire have announced that Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of Warrington Borough Council, has joined other influential business leaders on their trustee board.

Steven brings with him a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge from his current role as Council Chief Executive, and as Chair of the Health and Wellbeing board for Warrington, which has huge synergy with Active Cheshire’s ambition of getting 50,000 more people, more active, more often by 2017.

His previous roles include; Chief Executive of the North West Development Agency and Chair of Entrepreneurial Education at Liverpool Hope University.

With a passion for Rugby, Steven also proudly holds the Non Executive Chairman position of Warrington Wolves Rugby Super League Football Club, and is a trustee of the National Football Museum.

Steven is joined by two other new trustees; Paul McGladrigan, Head of Crime for HM Courts and Tribunals Service North West, and Gill Holmes a fitness, health and wellbeing expert.

Paul McGladrigan in his role as Head of Crime for the HMCTS North West, is taking forward a range of change projects and is also lead Head of Crime nationally for streamlined digital working. In the past Paul has played football at a semi-professional level for Horsham and Leamington Spa.

Gill Holmes previously a full-time P.E teacher has a passion for sport and physical activity, and recognises the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Her work in the local community and at grassroots level make her best placed to support our mission of getting more people active..
