A WARRINGTON businessman is issuing a rallying call to fellow entrepreneurs to get behind Small Business Saturday after pledging his support to the initiative.

To mark the day, Paul Clark, owner of Ovenu Warrington, is to switch his spending to small, independently-owned local retailers and promote the impact that SMEs have on the regional and national economies.

Taking place on 5th December, Small Business Saturday UK, which was launched in 2013, highlights small business success and encourages consumers to support small businesses in their communities and to ‘shop local’.

Paul Clark, owner of Ovenu Warrington, said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of the economy and their impact is often overshadowed in favour of larger corporations. Small Business Saturday provides the perfect opportunity to champion everything that is good about our independent, local shops and services here in Warrington.

“As a small business owner, I will be pledging my support to this fantastic initiative by utilising the services of our small shops and businesses over the course of the weekend and moving forward. I would urge my fellow retail and service sector colleagues to do the same and help promote our High Street.”

Ovenu Warrington provides its environmentally-friendly oven valeting service to homes and businesses throughout the town, including Great Sankey, Culcheth, Burtonwood, Lymm, Stretton, Glazebury, Newton-le-Willows, Winwick, Birchwood, Croft, Chapelford Village, Woolston, Appleton, Grappenhall, Thelwall, Daresbury and all surrounding areas.
