A CAR transporter was badly damaged by fire at Warrington late last night.
The blaze broke out in Liverpool Road shortly before 11pm and spread to a nearby traffic light.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze using two hose reel jets.
The car transporter was well alight when fire crews reached the scene and flames had damaged the nearby traffic light.
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters contacted the borough council highways department to inform them of the damage caused to the traffic lignt
Police were contacted to arrange for the damaged vehicle to be removed from the scene.
Cause of the fire has not been revealed.
