TWO people were taken to hospital at Warrington after suffering the effects of smoke after a kitchen fire at their home.
The blaze was at a house in Gables Close, Houghton Green and involved a chip pan.
It was out by the time two fire engines from Warrington reached the scene, but the house was heavily smokelogged.
Crews used a ventilation unit to clear smoke and a thermal imaging camera to make sure the fire had not spread and that there were no hotspots.
Ambulance crews took the casualties to hospital.
Firefighters were also called to a house in Quebec Road, Orford when fire broke out involving an oven. Again, they used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the property.
In another incident, one fire engine was called to woodland off Thelwall Lane, Latchford after reports of a large plume of smoke. They used a water back-pack to extinguish a fire in the open.
