A THELWALL couple who opened up their garden for charity attracted a record breaking 661 visitors – raising a total of £6733.
Howard and Wendy Platt opened up their gardens at Laskey Farm as part of the National Garden Scheme.
With the sun shining on both days the event also included an exhibition by Lymm artists.
Money was raised by charging £5 admission and from the sale of refreshments and from some earlier private visits and donations.
Howard said: “It will be hard to follow such a successful event next year.”
Since 1927 the National Garden Scheme has raised more than £45m for nursing and caring charities.
