Biker killed in collision with bus

A MOTOR cyclist has been killed in a head-on collision with a single-deck bus near Warrington.
The collission occurred on the A572 Pennington Lane at Collins Green and involved an Arriva bus travelling in the direction of St Helens and the motor cycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The 31-year-old biker was pronounced dead at the scene and the bus driver and one passenger on the bus were taken to hospital for minor injuries and shock.
The identity of the motor cyclist has not yet been released as members of his family have not carried out a formal identification.
The accident took place at about 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday) and police are appealing for witnesses.
