UTILITY player Mark Gleeson has left Warrington with immediate effect to join Halifax after failing to agree a new contract.
He has been released from the final three of months of his contract. Gleeson joined the club in 1999 from Ince St Williams ARLFC and apart from a brief hiatus in Australia in 2002 spent 9 years with the Wolves.
Mark made his debut as a 42nd minute substitute on 25 August 2000 in a 32 -16 victory over London Broncos at The Valley, Charlton. He went on to make 45 appearances plus a further 108 as a substitute, scoring 15 tries. Warrington Wolves would like to thank Mark for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his future.
He was a big factor in older brother Martin joining Warrington from St Helens. Martin has been linked with a move to Australia next season where he grew up as a teenager.
Gleeson caused some last minute controversy after initially agreeing to join Featherstone Rovers, but then switching to Halifax at the last minute.
Meanwhile Head Coach Jimmy Lowes has announced his 19 man squad as he prepares to face his former club Bradford Bulls at the Halliwell Jones on Friday night, in the televised Sky game, kick off 8pm.
Kiwi Louis Anderson has been cleared to play after being found to have no case to answer after being placed on report against Wakefield Trinity. Young Prop Andy Bracek is back in the frame.
