WARRINGTON Wolves have been saddened to hear of the passing of Wire legend and lifelong fan James Patrick Maguire.

‘Jock’, to everyone who knew him, passed away peacefully last night (Saturday) in Warrington General Hospital after a brave battle against stomach cancer, aged 85.

The loveable Scot followed Rugby League and Warrington for 80 years since he moved to the town and he was the life and soul of the party known by everyone associated with the club.

The club have sent heartfelt condolences to family, friends and all who knew him.

Earlier this year, Jock enjoyed a morning down at The Halliwell Jones Stadium sharing stories over breakfast with the players and firm friend Lee Briers.
