Fires break out on open land

FIRE crews from Warrington were called out twice last night to deal with fires on open land.
One appliance travelled to Silver Lane, Risley, where an abandoned sofa was ablaze.
Two fire engines went to Lilford Avenue, Bewsey, where controlled burning was in danger of getting out of hand.
The fire was extinguished to ensure it did not spread to adjoining property.
