Fire crews still monitoring barn blaze

FIRE crews remain at the scene of a barn fire at Warrington which originally broke out on Sunday.
The remains of the building, off Sandy Lane, Great Sankey, was still smouldering and crews are monitoring the situation. One fire engine remains at the scene.
At the height of the blaze, four fire engines from Warrington, Widnes and Stockton Heath were involved in the operation.
A large quantity of hay was involve in the fire and fire crews used two hose reel jets to tackle the flames while the farmer used farm machinery to remove unaffected hay from the area.
The farmer used machinery to spread out the contents of the barn so firefighters could dampen it down.
Cause of the fire has not been revealed.
