Barking mad about bikes!

BIKER Glenn Young, from Warrington may not be “barking mad” – but his pillion passenger certainly is.
Ronnie is a Jack Russell/Terrier Cross and over the last 18 months he has travelled more than 2,000 miles behind his owner – complete with goggles and skull and crossbones bandana.
Now he has been chosen by motor cycle insurance specialists Bennetts to join their Barking Bikers – a unique breed of motor cyclists who are quite literally barking about biking.
In a bid to find weird and wonderful bikers from across the UK, the company conducted a nationwide search to discover the top canine cruisers. After being inundated with photographs and stories from across the country, owner Glenn Young and dog Ronnie captured the attention of the judges and he is now one of five top dogs who will be profiled nationally and on the company’s website.
Carrying the Barking Biker in a purpose built compartment, Glenn and Ronnie travel around Warrington and the surrounding area together.
Glenn said: “Ronnie has to be one of the nation’s top barking bikers as there aren’t many places I have visited without my favourite riding partner! “Positioning him on the back of my BMW R1200 GS complete with bandana, we have great fun on the road and attract a lot of attention from other road users.”
Bennetts’ marketing director, Mark Fells said: “We wanted to launch a section on our website that celebrates the passion for motorbikes which all bikers share and Ronnie is certainly testament to this!”
