Get walking for healthy living

TWO healthy living campaigners from Warrington are urging people to get walking to lose weight.
Weight Watchers leaders Michelle Garvin and Lynne McIver are hoping local people will join in the group’s national Get Walking Challenge.
The pair, who run meetings in Lymm, Stockton Heath and Appleton, say that walking just a few miles regularly will boost health.
To publicise the campaign a recent one and a half mile walk was held at Lymm Dam, with people completing the route as many times as they felt able.
Michelle said: “We asked our members to pledge to do as many laps of the dam as they could. That way everyone could have a go and work at their own level. It was great fun and has inspired our members to continue to keep walking for health.”
Members raised more than £300 from the sponsored walk and money will to the British Heart Foundation.
