WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones has praised the work of care home staff during a visit to celebrate the third annual “Care Home Open Day”.
The MP visited Callands Care Home for a coffee morning as residential homes across the country opened their doors to families, members of the public and entertainers, to celebrate all that is good about residential care.
In addition to the Open Day events, Ms Jones also presented staff member Denise Woodey with a special award in recognition of her 20 years service at the home.
Ms Jones said: “It was excellent to celebrate Care Home Open Day with residents and staff of Callands Care Home.
“Caring is an extremely important yet sometimes under-appreciated profession, and I was very pleased to present Denise with her award for 20 years’ service.”
