FARMER John Bryan has lost another battle with planners.
A planning inspector has thrown out his appeal against Warrington Borough Council’s refusal to grant permission for an agricultural worker’s dwelling on land at Park Lane-Firs Lane, Appleton
Mr Bryan already has planning consent for a poultry unit and a temporary dwelling – a caravan – on the site.
At his appeal hearing he admitted the house he now proposed would be his main family home.
The inspector ruled there was no requirement for a permanent dwelling on site and the house would have a greater visual impact on the Green Belt than a caravan.
He said Mr Bryan would be able to supervise the proposed poultry unit from his existing home.
Mr Bryan has fought and lost a series of planning battles with Warrington Borough Council and Vale Royal Council over the years – once taking the fight as far as the European Court.
