Boost for town’s nuclear hub

WARRINGTON’S reputation as a “nuclear hub” has been boosted by the arrival of Reel UK limited in the town.

More than 20% of office space in Warrington is now occupied by the nuclear sector, including Reel who have moved in to Suite 410 at 401 Faraday Street on Birchwood Park.

Reel is an integrated engineering & manufacturing company that specialises in high integrity handling systems and overhead cranes specifically for use within the nuclear, aeronautics, aluminium and other specialist industries. Reel UK, part of French company Reel SAS, was founded in 1946 and employs more than 1800 staff across the world.

Managing Director of Warrington & Co. Steve Park said: “We welcome Reel UK to their new offices. The confidence that is being shown by International businesses within the sector, such as Reel UK, really enhances Warrington’s reputation as a nuclear business hub.”

Brian Owen, Business Development Manager from Reel UK said: “Warrington was our first choice in terms of “design support” offices due in part to its close proximity to so many other businesses within the nuclear sector which is essential when considering our U.K. expansion plans.”

The new Birchwood Park office is Reel’s third UK location, after Reading and Stourbridge.
