THREE callous thieves have stuck at the home of a 78-year-old man in Warrington in a frenzied machete attack.
The victim, who as asleep at his home on Chester Road in Grappenhall, was struck over the hand with the machete as the thieves made off with a quantity of cash and £2,000 Rolex watch.
All three of the men were wearing balaclavas and dark track suits when they broke into the property, eventually forcing their way into the bedroom.
After bravely forcing the thieves from his home, the victim was left extremely shaken and nursing cuts to his hands.
It is not yet known which way the thieves headed after leaving the property, or if they had transport to make their getaway.
The stolen Rolex watch is described as having a gold face, with silver and gold metallic strap and the words “Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Just” written on it.
