Urgent need for public toilets!

CAMPAIGNERS fighting for public toilets in Warrington village complained that “human excrement” had been found in a village churchyard.
Stockton Heath Parish Council heard there was an urgent need for the toilets in The Forge shopping centre to be re-opened – or alternative provision made.
Local resident and former parish councillor Patrick Mullee (pictured) said: “Human excrement was found in the adjacent St Thomas’ churchyard. We need to make progress with providing public toilets.”
Members heard the toilets had been closed following complaints of “inappropriate activity” in the gents.
Chair Coun Maurice Leslie said Warrington Borough Council was considering offering the toilet block to a business, on condition that there was also some provision for public toilets.
Members agreed to find out how the scheme was progressing.
Coun Sonia Boggan suggested that “portaloos” could be provided in the village similar to those used at major events.
“The borough council should replace the toilets. It is disgusting that there are no toilets in the village.”
