WARRINGTON Crown Court heard how a woman care worker was locked in a bedroom and forced to strip by a man who wanted sex with her.
Stephen Parry, 48, wrapped his belt around her neck and forced her on to a bed during the 15-minute ordeal.
Earlier he had removed the batteries from a panic alarm in the room, the court was told.
Parry, 48, of Widnes, admitted false imprisonment and sexual assault and was jailed for public protection.
Judge Thomas Teague ruled that he should not be considered for release for at least two years and ordered that he sign the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life.
He told Parry: “It is clear to me you have no insight into your actions and the consequences for others.”
David Jones, prosecuting, said Parry, who was living in a care home in February this year, had signalled for help because he claimed he couldn’t get a window open in his room.
When the woman went to open the window he locked the door, undid his trousers and removed his belt.
He told the victim he fancied her and wanted to have sex with her and then forced her to remove her clothes and kissed her.
But the woman managed to break free and escape from the room after 15 minutes.
Charles Lander, defending, said Parry had a recognised personality disorder and had never had a sexual relationship. There had been no touching during the incident.
