Dedicate a tree to your dad

PEOPLE in Warrington stuck for a Father’s Day gift idea can buy him something that will last a lifetime – and help the planet!
For just £10, people can dedicate a sapling in one of The Mersey Forest’s beautiful woodlands, including at three sites in Warrington: Griffin Wood and Maypole on Hall Lane and Wheatacre on Gorsey Lane. In return you will receive an attractive certificate, personalised with your chosen message, along with maps to guide you to the woodland site.
The sites where the dedicated trees are planted provide green spaces for the whole community to enjoy and a place for wildlife to thrive. With the sites open to the public all year round what better place to go for a summer stroll than the woodland where your tree is planted? A gift that will last longer than socks or chocolates, those who dedicate trees can visit the growing woodlands for years to come.
The scheme is run by Community Forests Northwest, the charity that supports The Mersey Forest along with the Red Rose and Pennine Edge Forests.
Paul Nolan, Director of The Mersey Forest, says: “Our Dedicate a Tree scheme gives people the opportunity to get involved in the creation of beautiful woodland areas that are helping to transform the landscape of Merseyside and North Cheshire. As well as being a great gift, it also has a real and lasting future, which in turn has great benefits for the local community and wider environment.”
One Beech tree can provide enough oxygen for ten people to breathe everyday for a lifetime. Dedicate a Tree this Fathers Day and help The Mersey Forest make a brighter, more breathable future for us all.
Trees can be dedicated on line at www.cfnw.org or a Dedicate a Tree leaflet and form can be obtained by calling Community Forests Northwest on 0161 872 1660.
