Neighbours raise fire alarm

NEIGHBOURS raised the alarm when fire broke out in a ground floor flat at Warrington early today.
A smoke alarm had activated in the flat at Kingsway House, Kingsway South, Latchford, but the occupants were asleep and did not hear it.
The neighbour aroused them by banging on the wall and the occupants escaped unharmed.
A Fire Service spokesman said the fire involved curtains in the living room.
The cause is being investigated as the window had been left open and it was possible the curtains could have been deliberately set alight from the outside. The fire was discovered shortly before 2am.
