WARRINGTON’S 125th Mayor was installed in office today.
Liberal Democrat Coun Graham Welborn was elected to succeed Coun Celia Jordan at the annual meeting of the borough council.
His wife, Elaine, also a councillor, is his Mayoress.
Born and bred in Warrington, Coun Welborn represents Latchford West and was formerly a member of Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council.
He told the council the theme for his year in office would be a celebration of the work of the voluntary sector and his special charities would be Age Concern and the YMCA.
Fellow Lib Dem Coun Brian Axcell was elected as Deputy Mayor.
