PLANS to demolish a busy town centre petrol filling station to make way for a block of flats have been thrown out by Warrington Borough Council.
The scheme involved the Crosfield Filling Station, in Crosfield Street.
Developers wanted to demolish the filling station and shop and build a three-storey office building with underground car parking and associated landscaping.
The scheme was rejected by planning officers using delegated powers.
