It's walk to school week

WALKING promotes a healthy lifestyle – and children and their parents at Warrington are being encouraged to take part in a Walk to School campaign next week.
The campaign starts on Monday May 19 and pupils, parents and teachers are being asked to consider making their journey on foot to reduce traffic congestion and promote a healthy lifestyle.
A series of projects to promote the campaign are being organised by Warrington Borough Council.
Younger children can take part in the road safety team’s Teddy Takes a Walk Campaign. They will receive a book which, through a story, tells of the benefits of walking and offers road safety tips.
The council said the campaign will help reduce congestion and traffic around schools, and make children aware of the benefits of walking to reduce obesity and develop a healthy lifestyle.
