STAFF at a residential home for the elderly disabled had to contact fire officers when a bedroom caught fire.
A unit from Warrington Fire Station and one from Stockton Heath Fire Station tackled the blaze in a ground floor bedroom at Cotebrook House in Oughtrington Lane, Lymm.
They used four sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel to extinguish the fire, before sourcing out other hotspots with a thermal imaging camera.
Crews from Warrington also had to call assistance from Merseyside for another fire at a house in Tourney Green, Warrington.
A blaze in the living room of the property was out on arrival and hard wired smoke detectors did activate.
Before leaving, the crews carried out a full home fire safety assessment check.
