THE hard work and dedication of council staff was rewarded at the annual Warrington Borough Council employee
achievement awards.
More than 160 council staff attended the Parr Hall, on Thursday 8 May, for the council’s second annual achievement awards.
Supported by local businesses, the awards recognise staff contributions to the excellent services they provide. A total of 28 finalists went head to head to clinch the eight trophies.
Warrington-Worldwide Editor Gary Skentelbery presented the ‘investing in our communities’ award to the
Family Reading Service who were rewarded for being actively involved in initiatives to support the community.
Other guests included guest speaker Paul Cullen, Head Coach of Warrington Wolves, who presented the ‘team of the year award’.
Diana Terris, Chief Executive said: “The judging panel had a hard task this year in selecting from the high-calibre
nominations to find the best of the council’s talent. The evening allows us to thank our staff as well as showcase
some of the excellent work that they do for residents. The event continues to be a tremendous success and we look forward to celebrating our employees achievements again next year.”
Staff hit the dance floor after the ceremony with live music from local band Groovy Revolution.
