A TALENTED language student from Warrington has been selected for one of just 15 places on a national scheme run in conjunction with the German tourist board.
Andrew Malem, 15, from Birchwood High School has been given the opportunity after being nominated by his language teacher and wowing judges of the competition with his entry.
He will jet off to Hamburg in German on July 3 as part of the trip run by Discover Germany, run in conjunction with the German tourist board for a full experience of the country.
Having already sat his German language GCSE in year nine, Andrew was the obvious choice for nomination according to his teacher Catherine Askey.
She said: “Andrew is a very committed and talented linguist who has already gained an A* in his French GCSE. He attends a lunchtime club for German twice a week and I am delighted that his dedication has been rewarded in this way.”
