Police step-up hunt for robber

POLICE have issued an e-fit picture of a thug who was one of a gang of four armed robbers who beat up a man during a burglary at Warrington.
A 35-year-old man was left with a severe gash to his left thigh,an injury to his hand and other injuries when the masked gang burst into his mother’s house in Clay Lane, Burtonwood on April 26.
He was sleeping upstairs when he heard his 58-year-old mother screaming as three of the men broke in carrying hammers and knives. A struggle broke out between the victim and one of the men while another of the raiders searched the upstairs of the house.
All three thugs then left the house in a blue V registered Rover 75, which was driven by a fourth man.

The raid took place at about 8.10pm and the first part of the car’s registration is believed to be V 838.
