Town centre roads to close

BUSY town centre roads are to close to traffic from Tuesday to allow for major water main and service renewals.
The temporary restrictions are expected to be in place for six weeks.
One way orders will be introduced in Dial Street and Buttermarket Street.
In Dial Street vehicles can only travel in a westerly direction from its junction with Buttermarket Street to its junctions at the Mersey Street/Church Street roundabout.
In Buttermarket Street vehicles can only travel in a westerly direction between its junctions with Dial Street and its junctions with Scotland Road/Academy Street.
Driving will be prohibited on Buttermarket Street, from its junction with Orford Street to its junctions with Scotland Road/Academy Street.
Alternative routes will involve Dial Street/Buttermarket Street (east bound traffic) via Academy Street and Mersey Street.
While driving is prohibited on Buttermarket Street, eastbound traffic will be diverted via Academy Street and Mersey Street, while westbound traffic will be diverted via Brick Street, Fennel Street, Lythgoes Lane, Pinners Brow, Winwick Street and Scotland Road.
