A 35-year-old man has been left with serious injuries as four armed robbers raided an address in Warrington.
The victim was left with a severe injury to his index finger, a three-inch gash in his left thigh and other cuts to his back when the masked men broke into his mother’s house on Clay Lane in Burtonwood.
He was sleeping in an upstairs bedroom when he heard screams from his 58-year-old mother as three of the men broke into the premises carrying hammers and knives.
A struggle then broke out between one of the men and the victim, while another of robbers searched the upstairs of the property.
All three then left the house in a blue V registered Rover 75, which was driven by a fourth man.
Police are still unsure if anything has been taken from the house and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact DC Alison Howarth at the Warrington Specialist Investigation Unit on 01244 613 831, or alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The incident took place on Saturday, April 26 at approximately 8.10pm. The first part of the Blue Rover 75 registration is V 838.
