Lab wins top award

DARESBURY Laboratory, near Warrington, has been awarded the prestigious President’s Award, by RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
RoSPA’s national awards acknowledge excellence in health and safety performance. The President’s Award goes to those successful in achieving a minimum of 10 consecutive annual Gold Awards – recognising exceptional performance in health and safety.
Professor Colin Whitehouse, deputy chief executive at STFC – Science and Technology Facilities Council – and head of STFC Daresbury Laboratory, said: “The RoSPA President’s Award is designed to acknowledge high standards and continuous excellent practice in health and safety management.
“Daresbury Laboratory has demonstrated an outstanding track record in this area and this is testament to the hard work, awareness and commitment of our staff to providing a safe and secure place in which to work. It is my aim that we go on to win this award for many years into the future.”
