Masked men rob driver

A MAN was robbed of his car and his wallet by two masked men who waylaid him as he was buying petrol at a Warrington filling station in the early hours of the morning.
The motorist, in his 20s, was threatened with a knife and an axe during his ordeal at the filling station in Warrington Road, Glazebury.
A taxi driver who was also buying fuel at the garage, near the Greyhound pub, is believed to have witnessed the attack and is being sought by police.
The victim, from Leigh, had filled his silver Volkswagen Bora and was walking towards the kiosk when he felt a knock on his shoulder.
He turned to be confronted by a man wearing a balaclava and brandishing an Army-style knife with a 10-inch blade.
The thug threatened him, demanded the keys to his car and forced him to the floor.
He then became aware of a second man, whose face was also concealed, standing over him and threatening him with an axe.
The terrified man threw his keys to the robbers, who also demanded his wallet, got into his car and drove off at speed.
Police say a taxi driver, with a black cab, was also at the filling station at 12.45 am on Monday and went over to ask the victim if he was all right. He later left the scene however.
They are anxious to speak to the man as he may be a vital witness.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has any information is asked to call DC Alison Howarth on 0845 458 0000 or, anonymously, the Crimestoppers line on 0800 111 555.
