Warrington Town 0 Alsager 1
TOWN boss Paul Moore was left scratching his head after Warrington dominated the play but failed to find the net against Alsager.
Kevin Towey, signed from Marine, and Andy Thomas, from Leek Town, made their debuts for The Yellows as the home side squandered a host of opportunities to win the match.
Town hit the upright after 10 minutes and then saw a drilled effort from Ben Heath drift wide of target.
For all their goal bound efforts, Warrington fell behind before half time when a mistake from keeper Shane McWeeney allowed Chris Budry to score in an empty net.
After the break, Town were again on the front foot, but lack creativity in the final third.
Karl Brown did go close off a corner when his headed effort was cleared off the line, before his effort a minute later was well saved by visiting keeper Danny Roberts.
A good move late on resulted in substitute Michael Owens going close, but Town could not make a decisive breakthrough and slumped to another league defeat.
