CATERING staff at Warrington’s Priestley College have gone back to school to gain a formal qualification.
The five staff, Dianne Ford, Jackie Curtin, Carole Lawton, Zoe Shaw and Samantha Russell, have spent the last three months studying towards an NVQ Level Two qualification in Catering and Hospitality, which has seen them cover modules such as good work practice and customer care.
All the women are part of the Taylor-Shaw team that provide the day-to-day catering facilities on the Loushers Lane site across the two main buildings in the shape of the Wicked Cafe Bar and the recently opened Crescent Cafe.
Catering manager Sue Flynn said: “It’s worthy of note that not only the students are learning here at Priestley but also the staff too. These latest qualifications show that we take the long term development of our staff very seriously indeed and follows on from the recent praise we received from Scores on the Doors.”
Principal Mike Southworth added: “Professional development of our staff, so that they are at the forefront of their field is of paramount importance to us. I congratulate the catering team on their qualifications and it just goes to show that you’re never too old to learn.”
