I’ve seen many, many great actresses in the part of the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth, including Bette Davis, and then I assumed Glenda Jackson OWNED that part.

Cate Blanchett was wonderful in 1998 and then Helen Mirren came along in 2005, and ???? did she eclipse Cate? I don’t think so. As super as Helen played it, I think Cate may have been more definitive. Of course the scripts and story lines were not the same. Still, I’m looking forward to Cate in that role again, to be released in 2007. Wow, what talent!
