A WARRINGTON optician will be taking on a daring personal challenge this Christmas – in aid of St Rocco’s Hospice.
Tim Crompton, from Culcheth, will take part in a skydiving over Miami Beach.
He will free fall for about 60 seconds at 120 mph from two miles up and then enjoy a more leisurely descent down to ground.
Tim is flying to the US with family and friends for a Christmas holiday and will perform his daring deed during the festive break.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to do something like this but until now I’ve never had the chance. A friend of mine persuaded me to do it, and in this amazing location I couldn’t say no!
“I’ve had experiences in the past of hospice care and have seen the good work they do.
When a colleague suggested doing the skydive as a sponsored event for a charity, I knew immediately that I wanted to help this well-loved local hospice – St. Rocco’s.”
Every penny raised from his skydive will go towards caring for patients and their families at the Warrington hospice.
Anyone who wants to support Tim can do so at https://givingtuesday.everydayhero.com/uk/tim
