Service of Remembrance

COLOURED and tied ribbons will be collected and a rainbow of memorial balloons released during the annual Service of Remembrance at Walton Lea Crematorium on Sunday June 22.
All residents are invited to the outdoor service, which will be held at 3pm in the grounds, weather permitting.
It will be led by Warrington Borough Minister, the Rev Stephen Kingsnorth with Canon Christopher Cunningham and the Rev John Duffield.
Rev Stephen Kingsnorth said: “Entitled ‘Death through the ages’ the service challenges the comforting thought, that we know to be untrue, that death comes only to the very old, rather than taking our loved ones of any age. Reactions to bereavement will be traced, including, surprisingly, laughter, and as ever the event will not avoid the difficult matters associated with grief.”
Crematorium staff will share in the reading of reflections, and a range of styles of music played.
