A hairdressing academy launched in Warrington last year delivering apprenticeship opportunities is looking for new recruits again.
Based at Callaghan’s hair salon on Sankey Street, Warrington, the Cheshire Academy of Hairdressing, is the first facility of its kind in the area and is now actively looking to recruit apprentices aged 16-24, providing exciting opportunities for highly motivated people to acquire skills and qualifications, while working in the hairdressing industry.
Under the guidance of Salon and Academy Director Stuart Callaghan, Academy Director Claire Aldous and Creative Director Andrea Potts, who between them have more than 60 years combined experience in the industry, apprentices will undertake a programme of training tailored to meet their needs, starting in September.
They will work towards gaining NVQ’s at level 2 and 3 and qualifications in functional skills Maths and English, Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Equality and Diversity and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
Apprentices will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of the hairdressing industry, involving theory to back up the practical skills of cutting, colouring and all other related tasks. Classes will be small, with a maximum of 10 students.
Although based at Callaghan’s the Academy will offer placements for other salons within the area.
