Police seek witnesses to serious collision at Rixton

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision involving a motorbike and a car in Hollins Green, Rixton on Saturday afternoon.
The collision occured at around 2.50pm on Saturday 30 November and involved a grey Lexus and a black Yamaha motorbike which had been travelling along the A57 Manchester Road, towards Cadishead.
The collision took place on the stretch of road between Warburton Bridge and Glazebrook Lane. The rider, a 57-year-old man, and a pillion passenger, a 26-year-old woman, received serious injuries and were taken to hospital. Both remain in a serious but stable condition.
The occupants of the Lexus were uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 625 of 30 November 2013.
