New £4 million school opens

THE super, new £4 million Woolston Primary School, Warrington, will be officially opened today.
Mayor of Warrington Cllr Peter Carey and former teacher Harold Bate, who taught at the school from 1957 to 1980, will unveil a plaque to mark the occasion.
There will be performances by Warrington’s Signing Choir and the school’s own Year 5 pupils.
The opening ceremony will conclude with a song by the whole school and Year 6 pupils will then lead guided tours of the building.
Occupying a 2.45 hectare (6.125 acre) site in Barnfield Road, Woolston, the curved building, which features a distinctive saw-tooth roof design, has been delivered by contractor ISG Construction Ltd, through the North West Construction Hub.
The school will serve 210 pupils.
