WARRINGTON Wolves international prop forward Chris Hill has agreed a five-year improved and extended contract that will keep him at the club until November 2018.
Hill aged 25, joined the Wolves from Championship side Leigh Centurions ahead of the 2012 season making a memorable debut season forging a reputation for hard work and making serious metres down the middle. He was named in the prestigious Super League Dream Team and gained full International honours with England.
He made 33 appearances in 2012 including securing a place in the Challenge Cup Final winning team and a Grand Final appearance. His 2013 campaign continued in the same vein with him making 32 starting appearances including a second Grand Final.
Hill is currently on International duty with England playing an integral part of the host nation’s RLWC2013 campaign.
Commenting on his extended deal Hill said: “It’s a great club to be a part of, up there fighting for trophies. It’s a great all-round club to be involved in.
“I’m glad to have secured my deal and to be playing for the Wolves for the next five years. It’s down to the players I’ve played with and a great coach.
“The disappointment of how the last two years ended means we will be fighting once again next year to make it one step further in both competitions.”
Commenting on the current international scene: “It’s every player’s dream to be involved in big games like these in the Rugby league World Cup. It was a dream come true to line up against Australia last weekend despite the loss and hopefully I can get selected again this week against Ireland.”
Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “We are delighted that Chris has committed himself to the club for the next five years. He has been a recent success story in making the transition from the Championship into the Super League and now with England on the International scene. We look to maintain a stable squad each year to keep building and striving to get better and better; Chris is one of a number of players who we have secured on a long-term deal and we are proud to be a club to which players are keen to commit. We once again look forward to seeing Chris making an impact in the side for the foreseeable future.”
