THE Eddie Izzard inspired comedy arm of the Labour Party, aptly named “Stand Up For Labour”, will be descending on the Parr Hall to
stage their annual Christmas comedy extravaganza on December 17.
Stand Up For Labour has staged over 100 events around Britain so far, but the Parr Hall comedy night will be their biggest ever event with 1,000 tickets on sale.
Sankey North Councillor and lead organiser for the event, Dan Price (pictured right) commented: “This is a great vote of confidence for the Labour Party in Warrington, and more importantly this means up to 1,000 people will be in Warrington town centre supporting our local economy and enjoying a great value event just before Christmas.”
This hotly contested event has been confirmed only weeks after the surprise Ed Miliband visit to Warrington South, and Labour’s parliamentary candidate Nick Bent said: “Stand Up For Labour is first and foremost a top quality, professional comedy night. Absolutely everybody is welcome to join us at the Parr Hall, and if people get to see the Labour Party in a new light as well, then that’s a nice Christmas present for us.”
Known for showcasing the nation’s best comedy acts, Stand Up for Labour national organiser, Crispin Flintoff (a cousin of England cricket legend Andrew Flintoff) said: “I’m incredibly excited for this year’s Christmas stand up event in Warrington. The North West has always been renowned for great comedic talent, and due of the region’s history I’m sure this year in the Parr Hall will prove to be a raving success.”
Tickets for the event cost just £10.50 each, and for online ticket sales or more information log on to www.pyramidparrhall.com.
Purchases can also be made over phone via the Parr Hall box office on 01925 442345, or in person at both the Parr Hall and Pyramid centre.

I suppose it gives them something to do as they aren’t allowed to run their own party group any more.
Why do they have their own “comedy arm”? every man jack of them is a bloody comedian from what I can see
